Purple Martin Scouting Season
The arrival of a new year is an exciting time for many, but the owners have a reason purple martin more to feel satisfied. These wonderful birds are not out of the woods yet, however. Opportunities for new purple martin landlords abound.
Another thing people can do to help support the advancement of Purple Martins' is to report the sightings and breeding success to appropriate agencies. There are many such institutions, including the Audubon Society, Laboratory of Ornithology, and the Purple Martin Conservation Association.
PMCA has several "citizen science" projects, including the annual Scout on arrival. Purple martin lovers (not necessarily owners) to inform the PMCA ever see a purple martin scout in your area. This helps to control habits migration of birds, purple martin landlords can use it to know when to open their purple martin birdhouses in a given area.
