"I can get some advice on the formation of a successful Cub Scout and Boy Scout units?
I'm in the process of restoring a package of troops and has been on hold for about 2 years.I may be willing to sponsor a church but I have some questions, the first I can give any advice or I go to a website help me with a successful presentation to use when I meet with this committee, I can not sell water to a thirsty. Second: it is easier to start a package or a band? Third: What I can do to make it open successfully? Fourth what should be the first few meeting be? and finally there is a package closely and has been around for years, in a round a few years ago, this package (and still does) is a member of your package outside greeting the people when they come in, they give out baseball cards or other small toys to the boys that have a large poster with pictures of everything that I can compete with that do.How> well have said just give her a troop Webelos only a few, HELP!
The Boy Scouts and books offer advice on setting up new units including step by step outline of the first meetings. However, my advice would be to find a partner or three having children. Between three and four of you, the plan on opening of any unit of their children need, but all things being equal, the Cubs are actually easier. One of you, "the" person "master ceremonies, like most, the most enjoyable and motivating, is the Cubmaster. The most organized is the Chairman of the Committee. Find someone in the organization will host the Charter of the Organization Rep-the link between you and the host. Now all you need is a couple of den leaders and you have the management of the package ready to go. Go through the formation of rapid onset and a hook at the local district training sessions per month. You'll get a lot of good There are ideas, and get some networking done. Recruit. Advertising heck of it at school, church, and neighborhood. Brochures, newsletters, etc. The question is, what advertise? Yes, a Cub pack and all that, but what can you do to attract special people? The food is good. Local celebrities are very good. Trucks firefighters, military equipment, all useful. Freebies are great too. Make it a party! First meetings? It has a "plan to spend as little time as possible at meetings planning things or speak at all. I like this structure: to a meeting a week-the last meeting a month is a package of meeting everyone. 2 meetings are den meetings and den activity is a meeting place away from normal. If there are five meetings a month, I'd like to do something special for the other meeting, such as bowling night a group. Have a package of meeting to start. Have a cool flag ceremony Marines, Boy Scouts, cool someone. Introduce the program and leaders, then enter caves by grade levels. Doing something in each den-discuss uniform, talking about where / when the meetings are given, then do something the book, a quick, hands, and interesting. I would make a scarf slide. Regroup as a package and talk about next month's meeting packet, which The big issue is and what each must do Cub to do so. Among other things, you should aim for each Cub to win the Bobcat Award by then if possible. Close, snacks, bulletin go. Key points: - Have a plan-overplan plan for two hours of activity for each hour of meeting time. - Talk to young people as little as possible. They do something is a million times better than they'll listen. Are taught in school. - Treat their leaders as they are royalty. Generate money on fees to cover their training, patches, awards, etc. Providing good food at every meeting. Make the program and families as possible. - Use the BSA whenever possible. Training, support meetings, commissioners, the district and council activities, etc. - There are a lot of non-BSA as well sites, books, etc.

A Rule of the Boy Scouts is every day to do some one a good turn. Not because the copy-books tell you it deserves another, but in spite of that pleasing possibility. If you are a true Scout, until you have performed your act of kindness your day is dark. You are as unhappy as is the grown-up who has begun his day without shaving or reading the New York _Sun_. But as soon as you have proved yoursel...

How can I deal with a mean mother of one of my Cub Scouts?
I am a Tiger Cub Den Leader and my son is the only one who does not have an older brother in Cub Scouts. One of the boys usually has his father come to den meetings with him (he is a Webelos Den Leader) but the only way I can describe him is that he is "beaten down". His wife is certainly a battle axe and any suggestions (activities & outings) I have always receive a grimmace from her.
I don't think I am going to be able to put up with her for the next 5 years! What can I do?
I have the same problem (but with a different organization). I just have to keep reminding myself that although we both had the opportunity to be the leader, I was the one who volunteered, not her- if she is that unhappy with the way I run things, then she can run against me next year. In the meantime, I'm just ignoring her eye-rolls and grimmaces. No one else is expressing dissatisfaction with my leadership so I'm not going to change anything just to please her. I also remind people that if they see a problem, they need to suggest a solution instead of just complaining about it. For your next meeting, if she grimmaces or makes a snide comment, just say very sweetly, "Or perhaps you have a suggestion on how to do it differently/would like to take charge of this project?" or whatever. Good luck dealing with her.
